Terms and Conditions for Attic Store

  1. Definitions

    1. "Company" refers to Attic Store Limited, the provider of loft boarding services.

    2. "Customer" refers to any individual, firm, or company who engages the Company's services.

    3. "Services" encompass surveying, quoting, and installing loft boarding solutions.

    4. "Quotation" is the written estimate provided by the Company detailing the scope and cost of the Services.

    5. "Contract" is the legally binding agreement formed between the Company and the Customer upon acceptance of the Quotation.

  2. Quotations and Acceptance

    1. Quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue and are subject to change thereafter.

    2. Quotations are based on the information provided by the Customer and observations made during the initial survey. Any discrepancies discovered during installation may result in revised pricing.

    3. Acceptance of the Quotation can be made in writing (including email) or verbally, which will form a binding Contract.

    4. It is the customer's responsibility to check the quotation to ensure the order is what you, the customer wants.  If there are any items on there that you feel should not, please contact us at your earliest convenience to discuss and amend the quotation ahead of any install date.

    5. Once you accept the quotation, an install date can be agreed upon to suit both you and Attic stores diary and a confirmation letter will be sent.

    6. Acceptance of our quotation by you shall constitute an offer to purchase goods and/or services from us.

  3. Services and Installation

    1. The Company will provide the Services as outlined in the Quotation and install on the agreed installation date, using reasonable skill and care.

    2. The Customer is responsible for ensuring clear access to the loft space and surrounding areas.

    3. The Company reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the installation plan if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

    4. The Company will take reasonable precautions to minimize disruption and damage to the Customer's property, but cannot be held liable for minor marks or scuffs.

    5. Every loft is unique and your finished installation may not look exactly the same as other lofts pictured on our website and social media. Images that we use of products and installations are for illustrative purposes only. 

  4. Asbestos Surveying

    1. An asbestos survey may be carried out if a property was built before the year 2000 to ensure the safety of the household and our employees.  This will require an additional visit before the installation date to allow for any testing to be carried out.

  5. Payment

    1. Payment terms will be specified in the Quotation. Typically, this may involve a deposit upon acceptance of the Quotation, with the remaining balance due upon completion of the Services.

    2. The Company accepts payments via bank transfer (preferred), credit/debit card or cash.

    3. Overdue payments may be subject to interest charges at a rate of [Percentage] per month.

  6. Customer Responsibilities

    1. The Customer is responsible for obtaining any necessary building permits or permissions required for the loft boarding installation.

    2. The Customer must ensure that the loft structure is sound and suitable for boarding. The Company can advise on this but cannot accept responsibility for structural issues.

    3. The Customer is responsible for removing any personal belongings from the loft space prior to the commencement of work.

  7. Warranty

    1. The Company provides a warranty of 2 years on the materials of the loft boarding installation.

    2. This warranty covers defects in materials but does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or external factors.

    3. Any claims under the warranty must be made in writing within the warranty period.

  8. Guarantee

    1. The Company provides a 10 year Guarantee on workmanship of the loft boarding installation and any other work carried out in the property by Attic Store employees.

    2. The Guarantee is non transferable and can not be passed on to any new home owner if you were to sell your property.

    3. The Guarantee does not cover cracks in ceilings below the loft space as this is something that occurs with general use of the loft space due to the design of properties in the uk.  If you feel the cracks are excessive please contact us so we can check the severity and if any further action is required. 

  9. Liability

    1. The Company's liability for any breach of Contract or negligence shall be limited to the total value of the Quotation.

    2. The Company shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses incurred by the Customer.

    3. The Company holds public liability insurance to cover any damages caused by its negligence.

  10. Cancellation

    1. The Customer may cancel the Contract within 14 days of acceptance, subject to a cancellation fee if work has commenced or within 24 hours of the install date.

    2. The Company reserves the right to cancel the Contract if unforeseen circumstances make it impossible or impractical to carry out the Services.

  11. Governing Law

    1. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.  

  12. Dispute Resolution

    1. Any disputes arising from this Contract shall be resolved amicably through negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, the parties agree to submit to mediation or arbitration.
